"She's Going To Break Your Heart In Two...It's True" - Nico

Nico 1965 - Velvet Underground

Ginger Lindsey 2008 - Sunday Morning Sessions

It has been said to me several times the last month or so ever since this image was placed on RIDDLED PHANTASMS, that I resemble Nico of Velvet Underground fame. Personally, I see it a little in the face, the fact that we are both blonde, and the natural physiques sans the plastiques.

So who is this Nico?

Well from all accounts, like what I read about her on the web, she was a singer, model, actress. Sounds good so far! She also was an Andy Warhol 'Chelsea Girl', but not like Edie Sedgewick who a few films were made about. I saw the one with Sienna Miller and felt so sad afterwards. She was new to the 'business' something my Management Team is big on trying to explain to me and I often wonder if they think I am going to wind up like her. If it's supposed to be a subtle hint it's not so subtle boys (and girls). In some ways, though I can relate what I've read of Nico, of her 'charms' and to being nice and somewhat naive and open to new ideas, innovations, friends, but not that naive, even though I believe in God and I trust the goodness of man.

Yes I take my sexy photos, because I am woman, and I like being sexy on occasion. I like bubbles in the bath and taking them slowly. Having my man, when I have one, well you know I always have one, but the serious ones who are going to buy me super nice things, not because it's a birthday or Valentine's day, but because it's weekday afternoon and he's feeling in love and lucky to have me. So yes, again, I am woman so hear me purr and oh I can rawr, but that is such a cliché and so not me. I'll leave the rawrs for those little girls who drink till closing time and act like trash flashing their po-po's like it's shure neato to be slutty and then they wonder in their myspace blogs or their cheesy pop tunes why true love is so elusive? If I was still 16 I would so duh, no-duh right now you have no idea!

Personally, my personal life is mine. It isn't for sale or meant to be made into a subway poster in London or some sex tape with the back-up QB for Atlanta's Arena league team - and no Mike Vick even if you and all your millions make it back, we don't want no Ron Mexico! Ewww! Ewww! Ewww! (ok topic change before I through up a lil bit in my mouth).

So in talking about Nico, she had class, grace, elegance. She was the girl all the men wanted, but none could keep. That is what I'm talking about ladies! Keep it tucked in, poise, you don't have have to be the house on the block that everyone makes a point of going to because of all treats. Have some tricks, don't turn them for gawdsake! So Nico, maybe this comparision thing of you and me, fated star crossed, "in a Dream we are connected, siamese twins at the wrist... I like that, Miss Nico. I like that today, you and me and the rest of the rats and the super rats can chase us till Miss Golightly lets them in. Anything worth having, is worth fighting for my grandpa used to say, Indeed Poppy, Indeed. :)

In 1965, Nico met The Rolling Stones' guitarist, Brian Jones, and recorded her first single. Actor Ben Carruthers introduced her to Bob Dylan in Paris that summer. It is said that Dylan wrote the song "I'll Keep It with Mine" for her shortly afterwards. Nico had a short-lived romantic relationship with the main singer and songwriter, Lou Reed. Around this period she was also romantically involved with prominent musicians including John Cale, Jim Morrison of The Doors, Jackson Browne, Brian Jones, Tim Buckley, Bob Dylan and Iggy Pop.)
